Schaefer's Directors (Financial Advisers)
Our two principal advisers are Phil Sheppard and Gemma Lott, who are both Directors. Phil and Gemma have different skills and specialist areas and generally work together to create unique solutions. Gemma and Phil are also responsible for the investment management which forms the heart of the Wealth Management Service.

Phil Sheppard gained experience in law, banking and accountancy before forming Schaefer with his wife, Lis, in 1983. He is primarily responsible for Schaefer’s investment management. Phil has also passed specialist exams in portfolio management, taxation, trusts, pensions and pension transfers, investment planning and financial services regulation.
Phil is a Chartered Financial Planner and has also been awarded the Fellowship of the Personal Finance Society, making him one of the most qualified financial planners in the UK.

Gemma Lott worked for a National Bank and another IFA after completing a Degree in Politics and Economics. She joined the practice in 2001 as a client administrator, progressing to dealing with all aspects of work with our clients. Gemma undertook further study and training in order to become a financial adviser, and in 2007 she became a Director. Since then, Gemma has been instrumental in development of the Wealth Management Service.
Gemma holds the Diploma in financial planning from the Personal Finance Society.
